Hi :)
I think Draw rather than Writer.  Also it might be worth using Synaptic Package
Manager or something to search for "OCR" just to see what libraries and stuff
("Stuff" also seems to be a favourite word in official interviews about the
space-station) you can add to your system to give all relevant programs the
increased functionality.

Something i really love about Unix-based platforms is that if you add a certain
type of functionality to 1 program then instantly all other relevant programs
automatically find they now have that functionality too :)  Occasionally you
might have to close the unexpected program and reopen it to get the extra but
usually you don't even have to do that.  No reboots, just keep using :))
Regards from
Tom :)

Subject: [libreoffice-users] How to import printed form into writer in Linux?

Hi All,
I have several printed forms that I would like to import into LOWriter.  The
forms
have fonts of various sizes and families on the same form with areas for
entering
information (names, addresses, part numbers, etc.).

I have a Brother MFC printer that can scan the forms into a variety of
formats.  I
don't currently have any OCR capability.  Looking in writer I couldn't find
anywhere
to import a scanned image.

Are there any add-ons that would allow it to work with PDF files?  Is there
documentation related to this functionality?

LibreOffice 3.5.2.2
openSuSE 12.2 x86-64
Kernel: 3.3.0-2-default
KDE 4.8.1

Thanks, Tom
