Hi, unfortunately this didn't work. A jre is defective message comes up and the terminal rings a kind of error bell.
I haven't done source code diving and don't know what was used to write libreoffice. But if I were to use source code diving, I'd locate the code that gets activated we're trying to make work and check it for a logic bomb which in all cases makes this jre is defective message come up. I'd find no conditional branches there and that would tell me that some programmer had deliberately disabled accessibility until that logic bomb gets cleared out of libreoffice. I think this entire situation is at 6's and 7's until those with knowledge of the source code can investigate it properly. If I found conditions like jre must be a certain number or list of versions, then I bet the most current versions of java are not on that list and we have an error since libreoffice doesn't let the user know what versions of jre are acceptable for installation when these jre error messages come up. Either way, it will need investigation of the source code by those that already know their way around it.
