I've recently installed LibreOffice 3.5 on a clients computer. The client wants to be able to send documents within Libre Office using the File > Send > Document as Email menu item. This is not working correctly.
The client currently has Windows Live Mail setup and running correctly. They can send and receive messages within Windows Live Mail with no problems. I've attempted to duplicate the settings and input them into LibreOffice with no luck. I went to Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Mail Merge E-mail and filled in the information as provided by his ISP (Bellsouth.net) Webpage. I've tried both outbound.att.net and smtp.att.yahoo.com on port 465 with no luck. I've tried Using SSL and Not using SSL. Outgoing mail server requires authentication is checked. The outgoing mail server requires seperate authentication is using the clients full email address as username, and the password is correct. I've tried using outbound uses the same authentication as inbound, still no luck. When I run the test configuration function I get the following error. Libreoffice 3.5 Find Outgoing mail server failed error. LibreOffice could not connect to the outgoing mail server. Check your system's settings and the settings in LibreOffice. Check the server name, the port and the secure connections settings -- <class 'socket.error'>: (10054, 'An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host'), traceback follows C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.5\program\python-core-2.6.1\lib\socket.py:404 in function readline() [data = self._sock.recv(self._rbufsize)] C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.5\program\python-core-2.6.1\lib\smtplib.py:337 in function getreply() [line = self.file.readline()] C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.5\program\python-core-2.6.1\lib\smtplib.py:296 in function connect() [(code, msg) = self.getreply()] C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.5\program\python-core-2.6.1\lib\smtplib.py:239 in function __init__() [(code, msg) = self.connect(host, port)] C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.5\program\mailmerge.py:87 in function connect() [self.server = smtplib.SMTP(server, port)] I understand that this would probably be easier to just have him attach the file using Windows Live Mail, however, he doesn't want to do it this way. Any Advice would be appreciated. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Sending-an-email-within-Writer-tp3988564.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
