I'm running Fedora 16 x86_64 on a Dell M4400 with all the latest and
greatest.
No, the funky behavior does not happen with Writer or FireFox
(however, I run Chrome normally). And no, not with other apps - I
frequently have multiple instances of gedit and they play nice.
If we had a tabbed display, the problem wouldn't be a problem.

I don't know if this will help, but it has helped in
several
different things. You might want to close LO, rename your user
folder,
and start LO again. This writes a new user folder. If there is an
error
in that folder causing your problem, this would solve that
problem.
Before anyone can say how to do this specifically,
we need
to know
what your operating system is. If it is windows, please be
specific as
to which version. If OS X, please be specific also.
