NOI have not looked into that site for a Dutch dictionary. I just looked and used Google's translation to read the page. Now the online version of the DVD has that file. I have not removed the older version yet, but that will be done later.
To be honest, I usually do not go into non-English sites to get dictionary updates. Sometimes it is easier for me to wait till I hear about them in the lists or they are updated in the Extension Center.
I build my current list last year with all the .oxt files I could find. I look every so often to see if there are newer ones, but some do slip through.
Also @ krackedpress, Would you happen to know what British English dictionary is the one that is installed with LibreOffice as the default English GB dictionary? Is that the 98k, 217k, 390k, or the 638k kpp British English dictionary?
None of my KPP dictionaries are part of the default installed English dictionary. As far as I can tell, that dictionary is a combination of several English version into one dictionary set. I could make a .oxt file that has the 638K lists of American, British, and Canadian, English included and then you would have all three active. With the separate files you can enable/disable whichever dictionaries [any of them that is installed] whenever you wish.
As for mine, there has been some "heated" talk about the spelling of two "root" words in my set. Been told they were wrong and been told they are correct for British English. The "final word" is it is up to the user to decide on his/her own.
I offered the different sizes for those people who prefer smaller version over larger lists, but I use the 638K version which also includes a thesaurus and hyphenation control. I now have a 773K version for American English.
I am thinking about dropping the smaller word lists and just working with the larger ones. The 98K version is 5.2 MB in size while the 638K is 6.7 MB. To be honest, the reasons I created the different list are no longer a concern for me and most people seem to go for the 638K version [or I am lead to believe].

When downloading a dictionary extension ("Dutch spelling and hyphenation

using Opera (11.64 or 12.00) or Opera Next (all recent builds), the download
doesn't produce an .oxt-file, as it should, but a zip-file, that after
unzipping doesn't show an .oxt-file, but instead a strange set of files
without any .oxt-file.
This was reported by a person using Opera/ Opera Next on Windows 7 Home
Premium SP1.
I can't tell if the problem is in Opera, or may be in the Dictionary Page.
With Safari the .oxt-file download is as it should be,
and also, on my own computer, using IE9, the download is fine as well.
.oxt files are really a compressed file. I found that out by accident and that lead me to look into creating my own English dictionary[s]. What the original compression type is, my software does not tell me. I use the default ZIP compression format to build my .oxt files. I could use a version of ".tar.gz" that is used for compressed Linux install files for LO, but I do not.
Why Opera changes the extension from .oxt to .zip, Dutch spell checker 2.10G for LibreOffice/OpenOffice.orgot know but it seems to be an error. IE and Firefox do not do that. I do not use Opera so I never saw that problem.
--- Documenting the AutoSpellcheck problem, here's one case of a user mentioning the AutoSpellcheck problems, related to the LibO 3.5.3 to 3.5.4 update. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. LibO AutoSpellcheck for Dutch language worked fine with LibO version 3.5.3. LibO AutoSpellcheck for Dutch language did no longer work after updating 3.5.3 to 3.5.4. The user tried to repair LibO by using the LibO installer, but that didn't work. He reversed to LibreOffice 3.5.3 (using a FarStone RestoreIT restore point), after which the LibO 3.5.3 AutoSpellcheck for Dutch language was working correctly. While back to 3.5.3, with AutoSpellcheck for Dutch language working correctly, and while experimenting with the "Dutch spelling and hyphenation Dictionary" download, that dictionary was unintentionally installed. This hadn't been necessary, but it did no harm either.
I tend to do a "Custom" install for Windows so that I choose only the language packs and dictionaries I NEED for my installations. The, if I want some other dictionary, I install the external .oxt file. If I do not do a custom install, the Extension Manager gets cluttered. Then you get the French, German, and Spanish users. They have several localized/revised version to choose from. Spanish users have 20+ localized [by country] to choose from. The default Spanish dictionary may not work for their needs.
After that, LibO 3.5.3 was updated to 3.5.4 (using the same LibO main installer and Dutch helppack as with the earlier attempt) and now the AutoSpellcheck for Dutch language is working correctly, while after the earlier try it was not. It's hard to tell whether the AutoSpellcheck problem didn't occur because the dictionary was installed in 3.5.3 prior to updating to 3.5.4, or that this was not a relevant factor but that the installation results may not be stable, with occasional Dictionary extension failure. Now, with AutoSpellcheck for Dutch language working correctly, the user found out that AutoSpellcheck didn't work for British English. English GB was not offered for AutoSpellcheck and not checked under Tools, Options, Language Settings, Languages, Default languages for documents. So I guess this English GB dictionary extension had got missing also, somehow. It was the first time the user tried AutoSpellcheck for English GB, so there's no telling whether the problem arose from the update to 3.5.4 or whether it originated from an earlier update. Reinstallation of an English GB dictionary extension fixed the problem, for now. However, the cause of the problem is unknown, as it was with the other and earlier cases. --- Best regards, Spiff
There are known issues with LO default English spell checking dictionaries. There is a fix, but I do not remember what it was. Some people fixes it by installing my American, British, or Canadian, dictionary. Sometimes it works fine with the KPP dictionaries added, but then the issue pops up again and then goes away.
I do not know if it has been fixed completely with 3.5.4 [3.5.5 next week], but it seems to be something only a small percent of the English users seem to encounter. I have not encountered it with Linux or my Windows laptops since 3.3.x days.
