using writer, when I print, sometimes and often, the first letter of a
chapter or of the table is wrong, wrong means that is an unreadable or
distorted letter. (attached two little files the colored should be 1
and 2)

if I print on file the resulting PDF is ok;
if I print the same file with kword (the calligra writer :-) it is ok;
if I print the same file from windows7 it is ok;
if I print the same file using print>properties>device>printer language
type and choose postscript level1 instead of PDF it is ok

I don't know if it depends on libreoffice but it seems to be, but can
depend on printer or printer driver (kword show a different printing
window), can you try if you have a similar problem??

thnx, ciao, pier

Check to see if the OpenSuse repositories carry the SpLix drivers[1]
and if so install these and test to see if this fixes your problems.

Cheers,

Marc

I have same SUSE and LO and have not noticed the problem, but do only
have postscript printers here.

Sorry, I should have given a little more information. The SpliX drivers
are for Samsung printers (or others using SPL (Samsung Printer Language).

The problem could be with the Samsung printer. I have had problems with
my Samsung printer(s) with some of the latest kernels. Not sure why but
the SpliX drivers fixed the problems.

Cheers,

Marc

Thanks mark and steve, sorry for the late but here there is a beautyful sun and see and beach and girls... :-)) and I'm taking advantage of them, I will try splix. Thnx again, ciao :-))
