This occurs when creating of editing a table in Design View when
changing the Field Type to Text [VARCHAR] or Text [CHAR]. In the Field
Properties section at the bottom, the Length property does not change.
For example, I began with Yes/No [BOOLEAN] which has a length of
1. If I change the Field Type to Text [VARCHAR] or Text [CHAR] the
property remains 1. (It should have become 100.) If I began with
Binary [BINARY], the Length is 2147483647. Changing the Field Type to
Text [VARCHAR] or Text [CHAR], the Length remains 2147483647.
When I use Design View to create a new table and enter the name of
the first field, the default Field Type is Text [VARCHAR] and the
default Length in the Fields Properties is 100. Then if I change the
Field Type of this field to something that has a different Length value
and change back to Text [VARCHAR], the value does not change back to 100.
