You should be alright with the Unix variant, it is what I have used in
the past.

However, testing on : Version 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 45c86d8) on Mac
OSX with a MEMO LONGVARCHAR field in a hsqldb database has just shown
this not to work...i.e. :

I created a multi-line control corresponding to the MEMO field, chose
Unix LF and vertical scroll bar. Saved the form, then opened the form in
data entry mode.

Added some multi-line text with carriage returns. Tried to save, either
by moving from one record to the next, or simply saving the entered data
- nothing happened, the data I see on the screen in the form control is
not written to the underlying field.

Will have to investigate some more...
