Hi :)
Perhaps the problem is in Word? There are a few different options.
1. Tell the client that Writer is more of a desktop publishing package
than Word and allows greater sophistication in layout. Then give the
client the link so they can download and install LibreOffice on their
systems.
Well, the fact that LO can't read the .doc with the background in place
doesn't make it likely that the .doc file is kosher?
BTW, they are not allowed to install anything by themselves, so I guess LO
is out of the question there.
Unless they could get a permission ie...
2. Post a bug-report against Word and see the response from MS. (I
don't think it is possible for non-MS staff to post bug-reports about MS
products but it might be).
3. Word doesn't support all the different types of Anchor points for
images and also might not support the wrap options and layering. I
suspect it's the Anchor Point that is creating the problem this time.
Right-click on the image and change the Anchor Point from "To Page" to
something Word can handle such as "To Paragraph". You might then need
to re-position the image.
Maybe it's the anchoring then?
I used anchor-to-page.
What are the allowed anchor types in Word then?
