Hi :)
Yes, Google are one of the main companies supporting LO and i think they even 
have a seat on the Advisory Board.  There are a lot of companies involved and 
some, such as Google, are a bit of a surprise.  There is plenty of room for all 
since we all use the same formats.  Co-operative competition.
