Hi :) Sorry i was only able to give an idea of an answer to the 1st part of your 1st question and the 1st part of your 2nd question. I feel a bit uncomforatble about using # because in coding it's often used to "comment out" a section so that the program ignores that line. It's good for adding comments that humans can read though.
#1. a) Can I copy the whole user folder from AOO to LO, or at least the wordbook and config folders? My answer was yes you can copy&paste, even between different versions of LO on different OSes. Here are the default paths which you might have changed but not without noticing you were doing so. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/UserProfile #2. a) Can I go into Paths and change the defaults for AutoCor and AutoText so that both AOO and LO share the same ones? Yes you can but it's generally recommended that you don't. As AOO and LO diverge it may become more serious but even now people seem to have noticed problems sharing profiles between the programs. It may have led to a loss of data in at elast one case although that was probably a hardware issue or more likely a user-error. Still, it's not known what the problem was so it's probably best to avoid the potential problem if possible. I'm not sure about adding paths about specific things beyond what is already listed. If it's possible then it might be great to share specific bits of the profile without sharing the whole thing. People add templates, Extensions, galleries and lots more into their profiles. Some companies have their own stock of things that get added for everyone. So, it's not really possible to list what 'should' be in a profile. The current "factory defaults" are a bit minimalist. It would be great if someone more knowledgeable (or just anyone really) could give other ideas about the above and also there are the remaining questions ... 1.b) If not how about acor_en-US.dat, and the files for the toolbars and the colors (the Options>OpenOffice.org>Colors)? But which files are for the toolbars and the colors? 2.b) I do use both Word Pros concurrently, but would not be writing to these files at the same time. 3. What purpose does adding another path (in Options) for AutoCor and AutoText actually serve? Good luck and regards from Tom :) >________________________________ > From: PeaceByJesus <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Sent: Wednesday, 19 December 2012, 1:23 >Subject: [libreoffice-users] Re: ApacheOpenOffice and LibrOffice migration and >sharing acor_en-US.dat > >Tom wrote >> Hi :) >> Yes, you can copy&paste the AOO User Profile to the location used by >> LO.
