I was hoping that changing the setting in 

File - "Printer Settings" 

would change the default setting.  


An alternative would be to copy the User Profile from either your Gnu&Linux or 
your Windows machine into the place where your new profile should be

but after doing that it might be wise to reinstall the upgraded version of LO 
just in case there are new settings for certain things that need to overwrite 
the older settings.  Note that the User Profile can supposedly be copied 
between different platforms, between Windows, Gnu&Linux and Mac but it's 
probably best done before doing an install or upgrade just to make sure.
