Check to see if the spreadsheet is opening as "read only" in the title
bar. If it is you will need to save it and reopen it.
Thanks Jay. Found the 3.4 manual online that states that comments and
images can't be added to shared sheets, so probably still applies to
later versions. It seems Excel is in a similar situation. I wonder if
there is a technical limitation or LO just didn't aim to be any better
than Excel.
Interesting that I can edit a comment in a shared sheet, just cant add
another one.
Moved the sheet to Google Docs which solves the problem.
