I have a writer document with a table. The first col is formatted as date, but when I enter today ( 3/4/13 ) the 3/4 is formatted as a small 3/4th.

I checked the col formatting and it really is date (MM/DD/YY)

Any thoughts or suggestions ?
Tools > AutoCorrect Options > Replace (tab)
You should see three successive rows containing fractions. Click the top one and the Delete button. Repeat until you have deleted all three rows. Click OK.
