Hi :) Perhaps shrink the height of the row until it looks more like a double-underline? That would work in Word too.
If he insists on using it as a cheapskate version of MS Office he is going to be struggling. LibreOffice has different ways of doing things and when you use them instead of just complaining about it not being the same then you find it actually out-performs and produces much better quality documents than you get with MS Office. I wish the marketing people would stop mentioning about the price and just sell it on performance instead. I think we would get more people using it and using it properly.
