I'm trying to create multiple indexes in writer 4 but I cannot find
out how to get them sorted alphabetically.
From [the] help files:
/"For example, you might want an index containing only the
scientific names of species //
//mentioned in the text, and a separate index containing only the
common names of species. //"/
Now I want to do something like that but have the entries sorted
alphabetically. But if I use the 'alphabetic' index type I can't
mark entries by the *name *of the index only by it's *type *so I can
only have one list and if I use 'user-defined' I only get an
unsorted list. How could I create the above two indices?
Go to Insert | Indexes and Tables > | Indexes and Tables... |
Index/Table | Type and title, and remove the tick from "Protected
against manual changes". Now you will be able to select the index
entries and use Tools | Sort... to sort them. You'll have to repeat
the sorting each time you update the index, of course.
Is that what you are supposed to do?
I trust this helps.
