MS Office Word has "mixed styles", which are styles that behave differently whether they were applied to paragraph or characters. LibreOffice does not have that function. This is one of few areas where MS Word is actually better than LO Writer. In LO, you have paragraph styles and character styles. On your part of sentence, you must apply character-level styles.
