What exactly are you trying to do?
First, you're writing to the LibreOffice Users list, but you mention
Apache. Are you using LibreOffice or Apache OpenOffice? And which
version? If it's Apache OpenOffice, you need their users list
([email protected]).
Or are you trying to use some other program to call LibreOffice and
cause it to open an Excel spreadsheet? The "poi.apache.org" website says
the "Apache POI Project's mission is to create and maintain Java APIs
for manipulating various file formats based upon the Office Open XML
standards (OOXML) and Microsoft's OLE 2 Compound Document format (OLE2).
In short, you can read and write MS Excel files using Java."
You DO NOT USE Apache POI with either LibreOffice or Apache OpenOffice.
Both programs will open, manipulate, and save Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint files without the aid of any external program. Both programs
work better with the older (MS Office 97-2003) file formats (.xls, .doc,
.ppt), but they will also open and save to the newer (.xlsx, .docx,
.pptx) formats.
