That's what I noticed too. We have to make sure that 1. Grammar check is enabled Choose *Tools - Options - Language Settings - Writing Aids * TICK Check grammar as you type
2. Enable rules Choose *Tools - Extension Manager* Choose *Tools - Options - Language Settings - English sentence checking* TICK what you like the checker to check. As you can see, the rules are very bare. If you want to a more serious grammar checker, install LanguageTool (www.languagetool.org). It's a free extension.
