Hi :) OOOPS!! I was worng! Mac hasn't had it for years after all! I really thought it had. I think i have seen is an add-on app for Mac.

This link confirms some and maybe gives another http://superuser.com/questions/14982/how-do-i-quickly-position-two-windows-side-by-side That last link taught me an even easier way on Ubuntu (and some others) is to use Super Ctrl and the arrow keys to snap the window in different ways.
