I have noticed that sometimes when I open a Libreoffice document a shortcut

re-open the document, delete the shortcut and close the document.
What is happening here?
Windows 8.1 and Libreoffice 4.1.2.3
It sounds like a Win8 issue with how it treats "lock" file and their
desktop "tiling" system.
Someone here must have upgraded to 8.1 or bought a system with it on,
who can help you figure out "the mess" that Win8.x is doing to you and
your files.

To be honest here, I am not a Win8 or 8.1 user, due to issues that would
come up with how I do "work" on my Win7 systems that would be a real
"pain" to do the same type of work on Win 8.x, according to all of the
articles I have read.
Actually I am a Ubuntu user, using a different desktop than its Unity
[tile based] desktop, and a Win XP and Win7 user for Windows work. Too
many packages I use on Win7 will not work properly on Win8, according to
their creators [both free and paid software], and Forget Windows Surface
device.
