It's often best to ask questions here so that we can sign-post you to the right place. Hopefully someone here might have a better idea of how to reach our devs. When you build an Extension/Add-on/Plugin it's usually best to upload it to the Extensions Library and "copyright" it using asn OpenSource copyleft license so that otehr people can have a go at maintaining it if they like it. It's a really bad idea to keep all copies of a file in MS formats. It's better to keep files in ODF until you need to share or collaborate with someone. At that point it's better to try to get them to install LibreOffice, OpenOffice, Caligra, IBM Lotus Symphoiny or any non-MS office suite or program because it's only MS Office that has trouble with ODF. Everyone else uses it just fine. People happily install something else for Pdfs so why not for ODFs? If they really can't install programs on their own machine then giving them a copy of the file in the older MS formats usually means they can read it well enough.
