The old binary filter code was still in LO up to version 3.6. Whether that set of filters caters to your needs is another matter. I would also look at StarOffice 5.2 if you can still find a copy around and get it to run - there might be some extra filters in there (especially on Windows) that are no longer around in present versions of LO, contrary to Charles' suggestion.
