You know that "docx" actually encompasses 3 completely different protocols? These having thousands of pages of documentation that make it INCREDIBLY hard to implement interoperability. So - who do we blame for these shinanigans? If we're saying "users just want it to work" - well....I have very little response to that beyond asking users to educate themselves a little, and hopefully blame the right parties for the lack of perfect interoperability.
