First it is worth quickly skimming through the "Getting Started" guide's chapter on Base. There is also an Faq that might lead you through something very similar https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq It is generally better to base such "reports" or "forms" off Queries rather directly off Tables. It makes the system more flexible for the future as it allows changes in the underlaying Table to be abstracted away so that the Form/Report can still get the same inputs that it expects.
