Hi :) Congrats on fixing the problem! It is always tricky to learn a new system, especially one that has such a different ethos! It sounds like you are on the verge of breaking through all the barriers and bad-habits that arise through years of getting used to the Windows way.
All the published guides for LibreOffice have a brief 1 page note, i think either in the Intro or before that, in the Preface, to help you with a couple of the main differences. The main chapter that gets LibreOffice really working for you is the "Styles and Templates" chapter early in the "Getting Started Guide".
