There is an amazing amount going on in accessibility these days but if you would like to join in i'm sure there is plenty of room to get involved. The accessibility mailing list itself is more of a user-support mailing list, like this one, but gets hardly any posts or chatter. The work seems to be mostly on the developer's side of things right now but now some major hurdles have been over-come or reduced in scale somewhat that could change.
