Hi :) I know a few people here use MariaDb or are in the process of migrating away from MySql to the more ethical MariaDb. So hopefully this post from the MariaDb announcement mailing list might be of some interest to some people here.
I noticed we had someone trying to use a back-end that was being quite tricky to use with Base and then another person saying they were setting up a Lamp system with Apache and that same back-end. Afaik Lamp tends to use MySql but could use MariaDb instead. There are many good back-ends for Base and it'd be great to hear of stable releases of them too imo. I only follow MariaDb and don't have time to follow all the rest.
