Well, I now understand how some folks can be suckered into believing
these scams -
            it looked legitimate except I couldn't understand why it was
being sent out  ;-)

It is spam.  Even if it is genuine then it would be good if they do
unsubscribe the Users Mailing List from such a sales site anyway!

I'm sure there is some scam where legit businesses are suckered into paying
marketing experts to increase their page hits and such and these marketing
experts turn out to be large-scale spammers.  I think some legit business
owners have then been deluged with such hate mail that it's caused them
serious mental health problems so please go easy on them!
