But this doesn't work either. I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd like to point out that in traditional typesetting proper names are not hyphenated. I have LO 4.2.7.2 on Xubuntu and Ctrl - does add a hyphen in 'Bruinsma' as you wanted it to do. And the name does break on the optional hyphen when I add text to force it beyond the end of the line.
