To be more specific, I'm running LibreOffice on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 machine with three local accounts installed, mine having administrator's privileges according to the User Account section of the Control Panel, the which I can confirm by the fact that the Windows UAC doesn't require me to log in with another password when downloading, e g, LibreOffice from the LO website.... This is not the first time I have encountered this problem, but I had hoped that within the 4.4 series, I'd be able to update using the LO tool. Alas, such was not the case.... Am I to understand from your reply that you yourself don't encounter this problem when updating LO ?...
