Hi,
It's extremely useful when you want to view two (or more) documents 
side-by-side (something I do quite a lot). Or have two (or more) different 
applications in parallel. I'd usually much rather have them simultaneously 
visible than keep switching between them on the task bar. We use the metaphor 
"desktop" and then often use it as if the desk is no wider than a single sheet 
of paper!   ;-)

Hi :)
The 'current' fashion for "wide-screen" "does my head in" quite a bit.  I'm
tempted to turn my screen sideways, like a book, so i caqn read the whole
of a document rather than just looking at it through the slit of
wide-screen.
