It's not entirely clear what you are doing: are these genuine lines
(separated by line breaks: Shift+Enter) or paragraphs (separated by
paragraphs breaks: Enter)? But in any case, what you are seeing is
almost certainly created by the automatic numbering facility
available in Writer.
Two solutions:
o The changes you don't want are AutoCorrections. If you go to Edit |
Undo or press Ctrl+Z *immediately you see the change*, the correction
will be cancelled, leaving what you actually typed.
o If you want to disable this facility completely, remove the tick
from Tools | AutoCorrect Options... | Options | Apply numbering - symbol: *.
