I still say, try using a business card template, like you can get for
free at Avery.com [with some searching]. I use the template method for
my business card paper stock, either for the same card info or every
card on the sheet being different. Just a few days ago I created a
"message card", out of business card stock, using the Avery template
that fits my card stock. It was fast and easy. Since I have many
different label and card stock sheets, I have a collection of templates
that match the specific card/label sheets without needing to remember
margins and other specifics.

This function was also available from Lotus Organizer in its earliest
version.
In their version you could also select from "Across then down" or
"Down then across" to count off the start position.

You can use File > New > Label. That wizard has the ability to insert
fields from a database. You can look through the list, whether a
predefined size and layout exists, but it is likely, that you need to
define your own card size and page layout manually. Don't worry, it
is easy to do.
