Hello, I have just installed LO 5.1.-beta2 under Linux-Mint-17.2. First tests show that connecting to a server MySQL-Database through JDBC functions alright. I can work with tables etc. However, when trying to run a report on a view in that database, LO 5.1-beta2 crashes. Things work o.k. under 4.4.7.2. Of course, 5.1 is only in beta, however, I wonder whether anybody has tried this out. As an aside - I have been having to specify "autoReconnect=true" for the connection string with JDBC. This is because my database server has a 1 minute timeout specified for idle connections and won't increase this value. Has anybody looked at implementing such an autoReconnect function for the native MySQL-connector? Under THAT connector one has to restart LO when the server times out. This is not acceptable in a normal production environment. If LO's dependence on Java is meant to end at any time in the future, this might have to be implemented to keep LO-Base viable. On the other hand - I can't imagine an office system without a good enough connection to a widely used back-end relational DB such as MySQL. Regards H. Stoellinger
