In my systems the recently added OpenGL does not bring any improvement even on a high spec machine (on the contrary) Go to Tools > Options, on the left panel LibreOffice > View and on the right panel uncheck "Use OpenGL for all rendering (on restart)" Close and open LibreOffice to see if any improvements are noticeable. If there were no changes try disabling "Use anti-aliasing" and/or "Use hardware acceleration". Change one setting at a time and try all possible combinations. Hope this helps.
