Toggle the recording (tracking) of changes at Edit | Changes > | Record.

Thanks Brian for your reply, my question goes beyond, is there any way to disable change tracking is a very troublesome option and not use it for anything.

The option is surely off by default, so it is difficult to see how it could be troublesome. That's a bit like saying that italics or blinking text are troublesome: er, only if you select them when you don't want them. If the option is on, I think there are three possibilities:

o You turned the option on.
Solution: Don't!

o Someone sent you a document with the option turned on.
Solution: Just turn it off. Or respect the fact that they want you to record changes - for their benefit.

o You are using a template - perhaps even a default one - in which the option has been turned on.
Solution: Revise the template or don't use it.

I trust this helps.
