If i apply this style to the last word in the footnote (quite frequent), then make edits in the main text , possibly adding further footnotes, then decide to add some words to the end of that footnote, the added words will also have that character style applied. That is not usually what i want. Can i remove the style from the added words only?
"Default style", the first character style offered by the Styles and formatting editor, is special: by applying it you'll erase any character style of your text. You just need to select the text with the character style you want to remove and then double click on the "Default style" character style.
