RecordMyDesktop is a part of the UbuntuStudio 1604 LTS on my desktop. Possibly only the Studio flavour of Ubuntu decided to include it in the distro. You'll find it in the 'Video Production' part of the software on the panel dropdown. I've always found useful advice, rapidly, on one or other of the many Ubuntu forums mentioned in a previous post.
