Tim, Not sure if this would help on Win 10, but maybe worth a try. I gave up on new MS versions not long after XP, but still work on a few multi-boot systems and run into Grub issues.
The cure used here is to set up and adjust partitions with Gparted (on a CD) , then run Puppy Linux (also on a CD) to remake Grub with the grub4dos utility. Has the advantage that the resultant Grub menu is much more readable. If the Windows partition size needs to be changed, then Defrag is run before Gparted.
