Could you please clarify, do you mean spell check as you type
(Tools/Automatic Spell Checking) or Tools/AutoCorrect>While typing
For the first;
Check if a manual spell check f7 (Tools/Spelling) picks up a misspelt word
Just check the document text is say English (US) and you have English
(US) spellcheck installed.
I often find I am in a situation with differing English versions.
The latter is more an Auto-substitute than Autocorrect, it substitutes
say an arrow for typing --> or ∓ for typing :-+: (± for :+-:)
