That means that styles were used properly, so in every cell where a currency is used, they used the same style. If so, then just find out which style that is and change the currency format in that style, and BAM, all of your currency cells are corrected at once! THIS is why you should use styles. If you don't, start doing it now. It's maybe a bit slower in the beginning, but you don't have to setup your styles that thoroughly immediately, you can do that later, just make sure that every cell that is formatted differently is using a style for that. Then you can always modify that style later and affect thousands of cells spread over a whole lot of sheets (within that file, of course) at once. Very, very useful, I can't stress that enough. So, let's say that the creator of your document didn't care about styles, which probably is the case. Then highlight all cells with currency (you can highlight whole columns with just one click and you can highlight more than one column at a time using the shift key while clicking a column and so on), hit Ctrl+m to strip all those cells from any kind of formatting (except conditional formatting, I think, but not sure about that) and then apply a style to them. Don't forget to name that style properly if you create a new one, making it easier for you in the future to figure out what the heck you were doing all those years ago. Then you can easily modify that style as you wish and you can play with that forever if you want to. Maybe tomorrow you want all currencies to be in a smaller font. Well, edit that style again, pick a smaller font, and BAM, thousands of cells are immediately affected. If you want to apply that style to more cells, just select those cells and click that style.
