You can try:
1. Using a newer version of LibreOffice, in case this issue has been
fixed over the past couple of years.
2. Long shot: Exporting to another document format and re-importing.
Although this may have its own problems.
3. Regardless of the above - filing a bug about this at
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/ , and if possible - attaching the
document to the bug page, so that developers can have a look.

Greetings, using Libreoffice 7.0.4 (latest stable apt installed) on Debian
11. Running okay except a single file. I have a writer file I've been
working on for quite some time. The file size in MB is 6.9, and each time I
open and close the file gains about another half MB even I make no edits.
Also it is taking almost 15 minutes to load this single file, all other
files load normally. I can go back to a backup a few days ago and it opens
quickly, but that is about 20 hours of writing in difference. Is there
anything I can do to fix this file without having to lose 20 hours? It is
just this single file. I have already tried safe-mode (no effect),
moving/removing .configtde/libreoffice/4/user directory, etc. No effect.
Thanks for any help
