Hi Bruce,
description depends a littel bit on the LibreOfffice version you have
installed. This is for LO 24.8.5.2.
Set cursor to page 2.
Choose
Insert → PageNumber
If you only press OK then you will get the page number centered at the
bottom of the page on every page.
Cursor in the page, right mouseclick → Page Style → Footer
Unselect "Same content on first page"
Press OK
Then go to first page and delete the page number.
You could also set first page to a different page style like "First
Page". Will work also without footer on the first page.
