Hey Barry!

I've used Open Office ( letters and spreadsheets) for four years or so
without any problem. I recently let my computer be taken away for repairs
because of a virus.

On return, I cannot open my Open Office files. The files are still there
but I can't get into them. Also it appears the program has been removed but
not replaced. I've tried to download the program again, but it tells me
I'm already in the program and I should log in.
I couldn't see anywhere to enable a log in and I could not find a phone
number to call.

That sounds a bit awkward, i have never needed to 'log in' to LibreOffice. Maybe you mean to open a protected file and it is asking you for a password?

Anyhow, can you open LibreOffice without opening an existing document? For example by clicking the icon on the desktop or hitting the windows key and then start typing 'libre' until the suggestions pop up and you click on one of those? (since you were writing about a virus, i assume you use Windows) And once you have a blank LibreOffice Writer/Calc/whatever in front of you, can you open a document from there?

And if LibreOffice was really gone, i would ask the folks who repaired the computer if they know anything about its disappearance. Maybe they can help?

Hope this helps,
 Sebastian
