I've had *horrible* results with heartbeat/pacemaker in general.  While
I haven't used it for SGE, I wouldn't even consider it based on my
experiences with it in the past year.

Not trying to start a discussion about heartbeat/pacemaker, as this is
an SGE thread--email me offline if you have questions/comments.

For reference, I'm using a shadow master with success via a shared NFS
backend.  The NFS share runs off a fault-tolerant NFS head system (thing
NetApp/EMC type thing).  Neither the master or shadow master servers
actually "host" the files.
