Hi Edmond, Are you okay with the 90 day eval license terms on that version of Grid Engine? The link you posted below clearly indicates this....well the license does say you can use it for 'Research and Instructional Use' - but there are limitations on that.
I think you'll have to contact Oracle for support on this version. For everyone who is getting confused about what version of Grid Engine to use I'll try to clarify. 1) If you build your own 6.2U5 or earlier from the original source with the SISSL license you are okay. 2) If you build a version of Grid Engine from one of the Open Source repositories (Son of Grid Engine, Open Grid Scheduler, Grid Engine on github) you are okay because they are SISSL as well. 3) If you have a version of Grid Engine that you have a license for or a subscription from Sun or Oracle you are fine as well (you should check though :-) ) You are not okay if you have.... 1) Downloaded any 6.2U5 binary from Sun with the license that had the '90 day eval' language in it. 2) Downloaded any binary from Oracle. It's closed, there is '90 day eval' then you have to do something, either remove it or buy a license. Finally. This Grid Engine community does not represent Sun or Oracle, so we are definitely not the final opinion on the Oracle Grid Engine licenses. This is just my opinion based on looking at the licenses for quite a while. Regards, Bill On 2011-03-09, at 1:54 PM, DeMattia, Edmond G. wrote: From Oracle. It's the complete distribution. The "qstat –explain a" command says "error: no complex attribute for threshold np_load_avg" When I run SGE_ROOT/utilbin/win_x86/loadcheck.exe I get the architecture (which says x86 even though it should be x64) and several "-" for the other values. It does see the correct number of CPU cores though. Any ideas as to what I need to do to get the load_avg to report correctly? Have the same results on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise and Windows 2008R2 x64. No issues on Windows XP.
