Well, the official statement from MPICH2 is that older startup methods are no
longer supported. Hence I can't recommend to use them (in case they would still
work at all).
I would suggest to raise this question again on the MPICH2 list, whether they
did anything to solve this bug ("unable to reinitialize the bootstrap server" I
guess).
Can you fall back to version 1.3.1?
