I have a question about job script file edition for running job now.
If I want to edit batch file of running job in sge now, is there any method to do it?

our cluster has a queue for serial program and its wall clock time is infinity. But, I put the line for wall clock time for a week and tomorrow is the end of the day. I want to try to hold my job for a while during the edition time of my batch file if there is a good solution and release my job.

the only way out of this is to kill the execd on the node, which will take care of the wallclock limit. Either with a `kill -9 ...` or SGE's script with the "softstop" option.

This way the node will also not accept any further jobs for this node, so this should be a method of last resort only, before you lose too much computing time.

And don't restart the execd on this node until you job finished. The execd will check during the restart all jobs it finds on a particular node and kill them when it discovers that a limit was passed.

NB: Wallclock time in SGE means from the beginning of the execution. Whether the job is suspended or not during that time won't be taken into account.

thanks in advance.
