Right. I recall some problem running it as a daemon, but not what the problem was. I think I also had a specific problem with the configuration that I debugged either with the Perl debugger or print statements; I'm not sure if the changes I made as a result got incorporated. Anyhow, I guess make sure it runs OK interactively first -- give it one or more newlines, and then "quit" on stdin.
